24 - Zitate Season 1

3:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.:

Jack

“Officer, this guy is not waiting around for me, so you better shoot me or help me, but decide now.”

Jack

“Cops have to play by the rules. I’ll have to break a few with this guy.”

Jack

“Don’t hit him.”

Officer Jessie Hamton

 “I won’t.”

Jack

 “Don’t hit me either.”

4:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.:

Mason

“I was following orders. I realise that’s a concept you may be unfamiliar with, Jack, but it’s something that some of us actually do take seriously.”

Dan

“We’d like our money now, if that’s like, you know, ok.”

Gaines

“Well, just so we’re, like, you know, clear… what happened to the other girl?”

Dan

“Janet? It’s like I told you. We had to kill her.”

Gaines

“Cause my people tell me that someone that fits her description was taken to a hospital near to where you were. How do you explain that?”

Dan

“Well, the thing is… Maybe, uh, she wasn’t quite dead.”

Gaines

“Well, I’ll tell you, Dan, you’re either dead or you’re not dead. There’s no such thing as sorta dead. Here. Let me show you.” (shoots Dan)

Rick

“No!”

Gaines

(to Rick) “You’ve just been promoted. Congratulations.”

5:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.:

Nina

“Stop following me, Tony.”

Tony

“I prefer to think of it as watching your back.”

Nina

“When I need your help, I’ll ask for it.”

Gaines

“Now bury your friend.”

Rick

“Where?”

Gaines

“In the ground.”

Carl

“Before you finish crucifying me… save some nails for your wife.”

Palmer

“Sherry didn’t know anything about this.”

Carl

“No? How do you think Keith got to me in the first place?”

Jack

“Teri. I’m so sorry. I know this is all happening because of me. I’ve tried to keep a wall between my work and my family and the wall’s coming down. Now I don’t know what to do.”

Gaines

“Now, say something.”

Jack

“If you hurt my daughter, I will kill you.”

Gaines

“Good. There’s a nice, clear signal.”

8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.:

Jack

“Lauren, I have killed two people since midnight. I have not slept for over 24 hours. So maybe…maybe you should be a little more afraid of me than you are right now.”

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.:

Eli

“Who is this?”

Jack

“I’m the last thing that you will ever see if anything happens to my wife or my daughter.”

Andre Drazen

“If plan A doesn’t work, you should have a plan B, not plan A recycled.”

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.:

Jack

“You probably don’t think that I could force this towel down your throat. But trust me, I can. All the way. Except I hold onto this one little bit at the end. When your stomach starts to digest it… I  pull it out, taking your stomach lining with it. Most people, they take about a week to die. It’s very painful.”

Cofell

“What kind of man are you?”

Jack

“I don’t want to hurt you. But I will do everything that I have to do to protect my family.”

Jack

“Don’t make this any harder than it has to be.”

Kevin Carroll

“I was just about to say the same thing to you.”

Jack

“But I’m the man with the gun.”

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.:

Gaines

“Believe me, killing Bauer is our only chance of staying alive.”

Sherry

“Think of the millions of lives you can make better once you win the candidacy.”

Palmer

“How can I do the job when my own house isn’t in order?”

Gaines

“How much longer do we have?”

Jack

“Until what?”

Gaines

“Until your people get here.”

Jack

“I wouldn’t wait around to find out if I were you.”

Gaines

“I don’t have a choice. The people I work for made that pretty clear.”

Jack

“You’re losing blood.”

Gaines

“Not enough to stop me from killing you.”

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.:

Milo

“Looks like they’re bringing in the big guns. What do you think they gonna do to Jack?”

Tony

“Not gonna name a street after him.”

Tony

“Let me save you some time, Mr. Chapelle. I’m not the biggest fan of Jack Bauer. I don’t agree with the way he delegates authority, and I don’t like the way he runs operations. But since midnight last night, you won’t get me to disapprove of a single action he’s taken.”

2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.:

Chapelle

“Thanks… for helping me… cut through the red tape.”

Palmer

“What’s incredible to me is that none of this has anything to do with me running for president. It has nothing to do with… the primary. It has nothing to do with my being black. It’s just revenge for taking out… Victor Drazen.”

Nina

“Look, I realise this is a terrible time for you to discover all this.”

Teri

“When do you think a good time would be, Nina?”

6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.:

Mason “Nice, Jack. Have you noticed that there’s always a body count everywhere you go?”
Mason “I gotta tell you, Jack, it never gets dull with you.”

7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.:

Palmer

“Mike seems to think I still have a shot.”

Sherry

“Yeah, well, it’s Mike’s job to tell you what you want to hear. Mine is to tell you the truth.”

Palmer

“You’re not qualified to tell me the truth.”

Jack

“That’s impossible.”

DeSalvo

“You recognise him?”

Jack

“That’s Victor Drazen.”

DeSalvo

“Who is he?”

Jack

“The man I killed two years ago.”

Andre Drazen

“The substation for this sector’s a half-mile from here. A few ounces of C-5 should be sufficient. To save time, we’ll go in through the front.”

Harris

“The idea is not to attract attention.”

Andre Drazen

“The idea is to get my father out of prison.”

Nina

“Where’s Jack? I thought he was with you.”

Mason

“He opted to stay in the field. Literally.”

Nina

 “Where? In Saugus?”

Mason

“Yeah, the address you got from the Drazen file.”

Nina

“What’s he doing there? Why didn’t he come back with you?”

Mason

“I don’t know. He’s a stubborn guy. He insisted on staying.”

8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.:

Melanie

“You’re Daddy’s little girl. You get everything handed to you.”

Kim

“Shut up! I have been listening to this crap all day. About how I get everything I want, and how my life is so great and everyone else’s life sucks. Well, you wanna know something? You don’t know anything about me. Last night I was kidnapped, tied up in the back of a trunk, and then I got to see your friend Dan get shot in the head. You take all the bad luck you’ve had in your entire life, it wouldn’t fit into half of what’s happened to me in the past 24 hours. So messing me up may not be as easy as you think. But if you wanna try, bring it on – here, outside, any place you like. “

Victor Drazen

(to Jack) “Over the last two years I have accepted my share of responsibility for the death of my family. This is the day… you accept your share.”

9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.:

Mason

“Mr. Drazen, this is George Mason again. I’m the acting head of the CTU. But I don’t have the authority to make that trade.”

Victor Drazen

“If you do not have the authority, you are not the head of anything.”

Andre Drazen

“Mr. Mason. What have you decided?… Mr. Mason?”

Mason

“We’re gonna do the swap on our terms.”

Andre Drazen

“Yeah, that’s an interesting dream. The swap will take place exactly 30 minutes from now. The address is 2127 Grand Avenue. A green SUV will be waiting. Place my brother inside the vehicle.”

Mason

“What about Jack?”

Andre Drazen

“When my brother’s in position, I’ll direct you to Bauer. You have 29 minutes.”

Mason

“Maybe you should have taken a few more English lessons. ‘Trade’ means we get something too.”

10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.:

Andre Drazen

“Has your father ever talked about his work? About where he goes… on those long trips overseas? Of course not.”

Kim

“He can’t.”

Andre Drazen

“Because he’s a criminal.”

Kim

“My father is a good man.”

Andre Drazen

“No. He’s not.”

11:00 p.m. – midnight:

Mike

“I don’t think the situation will require much spin, as long as you do what you’ve been doing all along.”

Palmer

“Tell me again what I’ve been doing, Mike.”

Mike

“Telling the truth.”

Palmer

“Oh, yeah. And tearing my family apart in the process.”

Mason

“As usual, I don’t know whether to congratulate you, or demand your resignation.”
